Chapter 12

Later that evening, Rhys strolled past the guards. Before him, the glass door swished open. He ran up the steps and through the open door to Doc’s office. So, I’m expected. He stopped at the sight of Doc bending to release a naked slave tied to a wooden kitchen chair. The man’s head had dropped to his sweat-soaked chest. Blond hair hung over his face in a wet curtain. Deep red welts cut into his flesh. What the fuck? Rhys glared at Doc. “I’m sorry, I should have knocked.”

Doc turned to greet him, his pale eyes bright with anticipation. “Ah, there you are. This is a new recruit, Justin. He came to us with a clean bill of health and had his first shot of nanos this afternoon.” He ran a hand through the guy’s hair. “He’s been working for Black Lace. That’s a BDSM club for the more discerning dominatrix. So he has some level of training.” He smiled. “But not with men. I thought you might like to share him with me before you begin your sessions with Dylan. He’s so eager to please.” He lifted Justin’s chin. “And he has such amazing eyes, take a look.”

“Hey Rhys, how’re they hanging?”

Rhys swallowed hard and moved closer. The man in the chair turned his aquamarine gaze toward him. His stomach clenched in recognition. “Jay, what the fuck are you doing here?”

With more cybernetics than living tissue, Jay’s top-secret classification outweighed the latest stealth helicopter.

“I’m your communication device. And it’s good to see you too, asshole.”

Rhys inclined his head and examined Jay with interest. He smiled at Doc. “He’s remarkable but I don’t share, and playing around like this with a new recruit will ruin them. You’re too nice, Doc. He should be begging you to fuck him. You need a Dom trained in masochism to bring out the best in these boys. You’ll spoil this one, and look at him, so pretty. Trained properly he’ll make you triple the usual fee.”

Jay’s eyes flashed a warning. “Well, thanks for nothing. I haven’t had an old man before. It was going to be a new experience.”

Rhys bit back a grin. “Trust me, you don’t need this asshole slobbering over you all night. Anyhow, enough of your seedy sex life. I need to get a message to Delano.”

“What message?”

“Tell him that the security is more sophisticated than we expected. Doc is recruiting daily. We’ll need more time to shut this place down. Oh, and thank him for sending you.”

“Ah, how sweet, I didn’t know you cared.” Jay closed his eyes. “Message sent. Delano said to watch your ass; he believes there’s another player in the game. He’ll send details when he has proof.”

“That’s all I need.” Rhys turned on his “trust me” pheromones and poured them over Doc. He touched the man’s arm to get his attention. “If Justin has some experience, I’ll have him ready to work in less than a week. Give him some sex-only clients in the meantime. Also, I’ve noticed Adryck is edgy and capable of training subs to the level you require.
